The problem with physics as a fundamental theory of the universe is that any theory of the universe which is incomprehensible to the human mind is useless, and any theory that is comprehensible to the human mind is facile.
Newton's 3rd Law is very easy to understand, yet is an apparently immutible law of the universe. Are you saying it'd be better if it was more complicated? Or are you refering purely to Quantum Physics, which is more akin to voodoo than kinetic motion?
I'm afraid to say, the "false dichotomy" alarm is ringing wildly here. Some parts are simple, other parts incredibly complex- but there's a LOT of middle ground between "too facile" and "incomprehensible." Especially for people smart enough to become good physicists.
