Anyone going to AmberCon NW: Is there anything you want me to run?

Thinking about Misery Bubblegum, S/Lay w/Me, Shooting the Moon, Polaris ... other thoughts? I can run basically any "indie game" plus, of course, Amber, but I figure people will probably have plenty of that already.

Personally.... and I am SO an EX-ADRPG person, so bear that in mind....

I would think that Drifter's Escape would just fit perfectly.

(Knows a bunch of ACNW people and likes to f&^%k with them).

Huh.

Are you being for serious?

Half and half.

I *do* like to mess with the ADRPG folks I know.

But I also really do think that Drifter's Escape works. Hell, if you feel you need to Amber it up, it can be Corwin, The Big Dancing Bear: The Lost Years.

It's got mythic. It's got literate. It's got a nice tight franchise but with room for lots of takes. And plenty of room for colorful scenery-masticating. Sounds right to me.

I think you should run Dogs in the Vineyard, only set it at the North Pole during the End Times and have giant mechs and teenage angst. Oh, and make everyone hobos.

Given that like %75 of AmberCon games are "it's a mashup!" already, I think maybe I'll stick to one thing at a time.

Conformist!

Seriously, though, I'd say Drifters Escape, since it sounds cool and would sit well with some of the players who like something different. But it might be a touch too different, depending on the other choices are in that particular slot.

Or you could fuck with us all and run a balls-to-the-wall ADRPG game 'by the book' as a tribute to Erick.

If there are two people interested in Drifter's, I'll run it.

by the book, huh.

How long do Throne Wars take to run, usually? I could do that.

Variable. From a player perspective, anywhere from 30 minutes to six hours, depending on when they get killed. :)

It doesn't *have* to be a throne war, though. You could just try to do a generic 'Threat to Amber, Squabbling children of Elders must band together (...or not) to confront it (...or not).' game.

I like throne wars. Basically because they let us rewrite canon as we play. I don't like playing games with a big canon to rely on. Crimps my style.

Throne wars are fun as set-less parlor larps. Standing up is fun.

If we're just talking about my Indie Game Wish List, I'd love to try It's Complicated. Oh, and Under the Bed.

Of the ones you mentioned, I'm less exited about Misery Bubblegum, and more excited about Shooting the Moon. (Should I be excited about S/Lay w/Me? I know nothing about it.) Anything would be cool, though.

Hmm. Maybe I should run Sea Dracula...

Set in the Court of King Random. C'mon. You know he'd be into dance-based legal systems.

My Indie Game Wishlist?
Anything that makes [livejournal.com profile] pjack cry like the sissy girl he is.

...dammit, that was my outside-voice.

In my head I just had this little conversation with [livejournal.com profile] karjack:

[livejournal.com profile] zdashamber: "Wasn't last year 'make [livejournal.com profile] pjack' cry' year?"
[livejournal.com profile] karjack: "Every year is 'make [livejournal.com profile] pjack' cry' year!"

Please please run Sea Dracula. Chaos and Amber have brought suit against each other, and the only place assured of a completely unbiased trail is Undersea City!

I think it would be cool to see what you'd do with straight-up Amber! I think there's actually a dearth of it, and I like it, and I myself haven't had any game ideas to help alleviate that situation.

What I do with Amber is basically Throne War. I like throne wars :D

Uh, I tend to also snip out Chaos and some other complications, and leave the cosmology a bit more of a question mark.

Come to think of it, I had a thing about Amber that I was thinking of when I was talking about doing a local campaign.

Something like this:
First in an attribute defines what that attribute is about. They also act as a "mini-GM" in terms of resolving disputes in that attribute.
