Razorblade update

The store did not have my style of razorblade. Have to decide between dull razor shaving for the rest of the summer, taking my chances with the rust, or getting some sort of new razor. The incredibly cute salesgirl almost sold me on a new 6 blade razor, but that's just because she was incredibly cute.

Thoughts?

P.S. to Lesley. Beards are not an option in 90° heat.

Rusty razors don't sound very fun, but tetanus (which you mentioned in the other post comments) doesn't grow on rust and that is unlikely to be a concern. If you're still concerned, you could get some strong alcohol (or boil water) and disinfect the rusty blades.

Or you could just use this as an excuse to go back and see the incredibly cute salesgirl again.

:D Fair enough. Rusty razors are no fun to shave with, regardless. They have a tendency to be uneven and brittle, and thus cut.

I suggest laser hair removal. A couple thousand dollars and 2-3 years, and you'll never have to worry about rusty razorblades again.

Oh, except that it might not work that well for you, because your hair's kind of light. Sorry. :)

I'm not ready for laser hair removal on my face, although my beard is pretty heavy. Two reasons:
1) Stubble is manly.
2) I want to reserve the right to grow a beard at a future time.

Only a summer fellowship. The rest is out-of-pocket. I figure I'll take the windfall and apply to another quarter's tuition.

Just get a new razor. I haven't found much of a shaving quality difference once you get past 3 blades (even a good 2 blade leaves you really clean cut).

Other ghetto option- get once of those sharpening wheels where you put the knife between the two stones and roll it- you can sharpen your remaining good blade that way.

The ghetto option seems more expensive than just buying a new one. Anyway, I've been shaving single-blade for a long time. Should try out the multi-blades again.

I doubt the cute salesgirl will be back again, sadly.

I didn't have your razor with me, so before I left, I bought three triple-blade razors from the Walgreen. And used them.

Try the Watsons, and try the convenience stores, and maybe try a lower-end store, and maybe they'll have the necessary blades.
