There's no there there in indie design circles these days - no overriding aesthetic, political, or social principle against which games are evaluated. So it's basically about status, and about people competing to become the next center of a movement.
You're never going to get status in that competition, because you're aggressively non-ideological about making good games.
FWIW, your stuff is not exactly my cup of tea most of the time, but I stand by my high opinion of Dead Inside. So you're just some dude who wrote a game I liked, just like a bunch of other people I never met.
Which will buy you a cup of coffee at most, if you bring your own $2.
