In order to make more time for my hobbies. I'm trying to, when I get the impulse to go read forums and blogs, instead do work on games or other creative projects. (Livejournal and e-mail are what I get.)

I went like four months without reading Story Games or Cultures of Play or any blogs save Livejournal.
A healthy diet of livejournal and email is quite do-able. I believe in you.
As a twist, also allow yourself to read academic and quasi-academic papers online, in unlimited quantities, so long long as they are delving into topics you are somewhat unfamiliar with (aka, you can't game design theory papers). The amount I've learned recently about urban scavenging, animism and rewilding is astounding.
