Happy birthday to me
I live in a tree
I smell like a monkey
and I sing songs off key

Damn. 25 already. It's been 3 years since I left Providence. Where does the time go?

I was one of the people at KueiCon who went to Brown, yeah. The others were friends of mine from back in the day.

I didn't know someone named Matthew Jaffe offhand, but maybe you can give me some hints as to major, appearance, hobbies?

I think he was Comparative Literature. I know he's gone off and beome a poet, hanging out in Oaxaca for a year on a grant of some sort.

a bit short, curly brown hair, rather Jewish looking...

He and his parents are old friends of my family, so I just thouhgt I'd see if the world would continue to shrink in weird ways like it has a habit of doing.

Oh, and happy birthday!

Huh. Nope. I took a few comp lit classes, and his name rings a distant, distant bell, so I was probably in a lecture with him or something. But we weren't close friends.

Also, why do you have the characters for "mountain-step-ride-earth" in your LJ name?

'ride-earth' is the word for "knight" in Japanese, usually used to refer to occidental Knights In Shining Armor type knights.

When I lived in Japan, I had a tendency to wander around in the mountains. Hence "mountain walking knight" or something vaguely resembling it.
