"The act of murder has been judged, by history and mankind, as an immoral, even amoral act. Nothing could be further from the truth.
"Killing pervades our lives -- with kill with every breath we take, every meal we eat, and every choice that we make. That we are unaware of this killing in no way alleviates our moral responsibility for that act, and that we continue to shelter ourselves willfull ignorance shows only a stunted, amoral conscience, unable to determine right from wrong.
"Our ancestors attempted to escape this responsibility in a myriad of ways, even up to the founding of Harmony, but at this point such endeavours have universally been show to be failures. Even the Founder's Choice, the choice of isolation, kills by depriving the world of spiritual leadership and moral insight. It is the choice of children and cowards only.
"The act of murder, though, redefines the act of killing on a personal scale. It is no longer a cold, passionless extermination for personal good. It is an act of emotion, even love, that grants the murdered the indiviuality, and thus dignity, that is due to all living things. It is the one true acceptance of the nature of life and the world, and through it we have become transformed into the first truly moral humans. We are all killers, but only the brave and good have the courage to accept this sacrifice and become murderers. This is our cause, and this is our nature. Through our knives we shall become transformed."
