I'm doing this because I keep promises. However, it has been modified to be a meme vaccine.

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If you do this, you must only pass along these livejournal quiz things if you feel like passing them on, never because the text requires you to pass them on.

1. That you still play with your hair in the same way.
2. "These Are the Days."
3. Play one of my weird hippie games.
4. "We got grenades."
5. My first is you answering the door for the first White Rose game I was at. "Oh my god, it's a cute girl!" was my internal reaction.
6. Man, why did I leave this in? I suck at quotes.
7. What makes the East Coast home?

3. Play one of my weird hippie games.

Indeed! Any idea when you and I might be on the same continent again? (and congrats on the job!)

4. "We got grenades."

Hee! That was one of the best moments ever. EVer. I still laugh.

What makes the East Coast home?

That's a tough one. When I think of Eureka, I miss my parents, the trees, and the easy availability of: mexican food and cheap organic hippy food. The trees and my parents I miss a lot - I just make them send me some of the hippy food.

When I miss Boston, I'm miss my friends and my SO and sometimes the weather (yay thunderstorms, but the winters can go to hell). I don't miss _Boston_, though.

I think a large part is that my life is out here. I could move my life back to Eureka, but... I really don't want to. I don't know why that is. Aside from trees and parents and hippy food... there's not much that I miss. You're one of two people I've really kept in touch with from back there, and... yeah. I'm out here now.

But I do miss the trees.

Huh.

I don't know if that answered my question. Why Eureka is not home I grok, I think. I don't grok why Bosprov is.

Regardless, an interesting response.

Alrighty.

Be well.

1. That you speak with incredible precision.
2.
3. Swordfight
4. Fuguy.
5. My first memory of you is my unit-mate telling me about this creepy fencing guy. This is related to the above. It took me a year to put two and two together.
6. "It's not arrogance if you're really that good."
7. What do you smile at when no one else is watching?

All right, I'll bite

Most joy? True friendship. Or, you can just call it love. Because the two are the same in my book.

[identity profile] chgriffen.livejournal.com 2006-04-14 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder if you know enough about me to get through this list without too much strain. If not, don't worry about it :)

[identity profile] chgriffen.livejournal.com 2006-04-15 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Nice ones :) Regarding the novel, I'll finally send out my first three chapters and synopsis on Monday, and I'm quite excited! I only managed to really get here because of using the NaNo experience to write out a complete first draft, realizing how shitty it was, and then spending a huge amount of time editing it. But if I had tried to make it good to start with, I still would only have a couple of chapters. Writing crap first and then turning it into good stuff turns out to be the way to go, for me.

Wish I could go to GenCon... unless I get a huge advance, however, I don't think that's in the cards (and I don't expect that). Maybe next year, if things change. I definitely plan to go eventually and meet all of the crazy indie monkeys.

Hamburg song... Hamburg song... Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins? :)

As to 7), good question. At the time, not that hard. Looking back, harder than I thought. I thought of myself as an individual, self-sufficient and independent. Now I recognize my roots much more, and I miss having my family and friends around. I miss Hamburg, the best city in the world.

Knowing what I know now, the decision would be a lot harder. But it would still be the same, because of [livejournal.com profile] tamyranev. If that's what it took, I'd live in the worst place in the world to be with her.

Yeah! Guess who I am, and reply to me. Or just reply for an anonymous poster on your journal :-D

Me! It'll be easier than doing one for anonymous, at least.
