Why a her, out of curiosity?

[identity profile] benlehman.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
The snappy answer: Because I'm a heterosexual and my computer is *fucking sexy*

The real answer is way more complicated.

Heh. Complicated sounds more interesting. And also offsets the fact that my Sexy Beast has a guy's name. :)

Basically, my computers have always been female. I imagine it relates to what Toe says below about goddesses, or maybe for the same reason. They are partners that I use to create things with. If I had a printer, you'd literally see stories being birthed out of this machine.

Hence, a she.

Secondarily, Anchors in Bliss Stage are all female, except when the aren't. (They necessarily have the names, if not the personalities, of people that the players had crushes on in high school. Since I'm hetero male, I write them as female.)

Works for me. All my computers and iPods are named after Transformers & related stuff- Alpha Trion, Teletran One, Soundwave, Rumble, etc.

Speech, Writing and Creativity are generally considered to be Goddesses.

Basically, yeah. See my reply to Rob, above.
