Because I'm too polite.

More Forge responses that I can't post there. This time, I responding to people who are saying that Narrativist play is clearly just like writing a novel. These people have clearly never written a novel.

"I'm sick and tired of hearing people say that their particular way of gaming is 'like writing novels.' It isn't, unless your style of gaming involves sitting alone in a room and making sentences on your word processor or in your notebook. Further, it doesn't give you any cred. It just makes it look like you are trying to ape another artform, and frankly I find it a little pathetic.

Jesus Christ, people, why don't you just game on your own terms? You don't see me saying that my gaming is just like ballet choreography."

Really, that's no worse than a few things I've seen Raven post. You should post it.

It may turn into a seperate manifesto a few months from now, once I get back from a hiatus. I just think things are a little too hot right now.

Also, I try to remain one of the more polite people on the Forge. Because, frankly, I think some people (no names), even when they post things I agree with, act like gits far too often. As someone who is going to have a rather public persona in the future, I'd rather avoid acting like a git.
