At long, long, long last the Drifter's Escape is done and moving to the printers. It will probably be available to the general public sometime in October: I'm doing an initial run of bound galleys to distribute to reviewers, players, and other people who can provide back-cover quotes and get word of the game out.
Which brings me to a question for all of you out there in internet land: I'm looking for recommendations of people to send review copies to. I am looking for:
1) People who will play the game (immediately) and talk about it.
2) People who might like the book, will write about it, and have a new audience that they can introduce the game to (so, like, not people who are big on Story Games and will buy the book anyway. But political writers, anarchists, communists, street preachers, revolutionaries and counter-revolutionaries, folk singers, movie stars, and so on.)
3) Other people you think might be a good idea to give them a review copy.
Here's a bit about the book. Understand that I am writing this off the cuff and I'm not good at writing ad copy for my own work in any event. Drifter's Escape is a unique book. It is a combination of short story collection and role-playing game, with the two elements thematically intertwined without one being slavishly inter-related. The topic of the book is America, and the part of the American soul which is laid bare by the life of a homeless wanderer. The drifters of the book travel between towns and between worlds, in and whereever they go are confronted with the difficulties of their own hearts.
Or something.
