So all the classic Basic D&D covers show a group of heroes, or a lone hero, confronting a dragon. For High Quality Role Playing, I'm thinking of having a cover in the same style (game name, colored border framing the image) which shows a number of clearly non adventurers hiding from, running away from, and generally being terrified of a dragon.
Also thinking about Black Company, inspirations for the game, and an old post of Vincent's about the two reasons people die (to advance the theme or to escalate tension) and how, if characters don't die, the game doesn't work, precisely because there's not enough tension.
