The main storefront of Espresso Vivace, the best coffee shop in North America, just closed (they will re-open in a few months down the street). I was there for the last night. As I was walking out, I saw one of the baristos packing up the till.
"Can you still make a drink?" I asked.
"Yeah." he said.
"I'd like a decaf cappuccino, please."
"No problem."
"Great!"
He hands it to me. "This is probably the last drink I'll ever make."
It was fantastic. I told him.
I'm so sad to see that storefront go. Shaded by trees, amazing architecture and space, beautiful stone countertops, and two blocks from my apartment. Ah, well.
