It is a fighty game. It's called "Anima Hunters" and it's been brewing in my mind for a while, but now it's got rules and stuff yup you bet.

I'm pretty jazzed by it. I did a thing with dice (which was essentially just combining three other games) that I don't think anyone else has done before, where dice are your initiative, and your action types, and the effectiveness of your actions (maybe) and also the fuel for your special abilities. Now I need to see if it works!

When the game is finished, it will have 310 magical kung-fu powers. Maybe more, in fact probably more. This is the sort of game it is.

The Anima Hunters combat test is up for comment, critique and testing at the Forge. Check the Indie Game Design Forum (and check out some of the other games while you're at it.)

Comments are turned off because I do not want comments here. All comments (even just -- "ooh, neat!") should go on the Forge. This makes things less of a pain in the butt for me.

Edit:

Here's a special anima power just for my friends on livejournal.

Pack-Summoning Howl
Activate: Maneuver 3+
Duration: Whole fight / until killed

Bring a Wolf token into play. Place it anywhere within (activation die value) of your character. You may use your wolf token to move and attack instead of your main character, although it doesn't have any weapons and can't use any of your powers except for Pack-Summoning Howl. If the wolf ever takes a wound, it dies, although you still take all damage from the blow.

Here's the cool bit: All groups in the game work like this. Fifty beast-men? Three Dragons? One die pool with a lot of options. If I were writing a full Wolf Anima power tree right now, of course it would be full of wolf-buffs, wolf-weapons, and powers only usable through your wolves.
