No, really. When I had my wisdom teeth out, they gave me the nicest drugs. It was like happiness in a bottle, without any side effects at all - no fuzzy thoughts, no loss of coordination, no sleepiness, nothing. And it wasn't 'giddiness', either. It just took away the pain of wisdom teeth and the pain of existence all at once. :)
They gave me Hydrocodone, better known by the brand name Vicoden.
I can see why prescription pain medications are the 2nd most abused drugs in America (after marijuana).
Aspirin? Hm. A medication that inhibits blood clotting seems like it might be a poor choice when large parts of the inside of your mouth have just been stitched up.
Yes. They had me on a gazillion narcotics for the extraction, so I had to take Vicodin to come down off the high. No, seriously. It was great.
That said, this is day 3, and I'm on Advil. Which makes me sad in numerous ways. Especially since I have something called "dry socket syndrome" which is a way of saying that your entire fucking jaw hurts like a sunnuvabitch.
Don't even get me started on the stitches, which are located right between my jaws, so I cannot chew...
I must be the only person on the planet who had a psychotic reaction to pain killers for wisdom teeth. I'm glad they worked out for you to a certain degree, Ben.
Besides drugs, use ice cream. Breyers got me through my wisdom teeth experience. Also, you're about to go off to China where ice cream was invented 4000 years ago. You can justify getting multiple flavors as doing culture research.
Try drugs!

Perhaps it's time to get back on the Vicodin.
