I had that problem in China! I either got around it with TOR. (I think mac uses Vidalia + firefox plug-ing), or I used the LJ post-by-email function, which unfortunately is (a) only available to paid users, and (b) apparently needs you to set up a PIN, which I did by accessing LJ via TOR. Anyways, hopefully you're having fun in Uighurstan!

Yeah, I think had to use a roundabout to get to LJ from China (mostly I was too busy to use the internet anyway), hope you're having fun there! Silly firewall.
